Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The band's current lineup consists of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell, Emily Armstrong, and Colin Brittain. The lineup for the band's first seven studio albums included Chester Bennington and Rob Bourdon. Following Bennington's death in 2017, the band entered a hiatus before reforming in 2024 with Armstrong and Brittain joining the group. Linkin Park has been associated primarily with alternative rock and nu metal, while also incorporating elements of heavy metal, hip hop, electronic music, and pop music throughout its career. The band achieved international success with its debut album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Singles including One Step Closer, Crawling, and In the End received significant radio and television airplay, with In the End reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. The band's second album, Meteora (2003), continued its commercial success, while Minutes to Midnight (2007) marked a shift in musical direction. The band's later releases included A Thousand Suns (2010), which featured a greater emphasis on electronic music, Living Things (2012), The Hunting Party (2014), and One More Light (2017), which incorporated more pop-oriented elements.
